The PS5 and Xbox Rivalry is surely interesting. We have seen Xbox throwing out major events and new games every other week. Sony has been completely quiet, and this is working for them. In short, they are allowing other prospects like Unreal Engine 5, Ghost of Tsushima, and various developers to market them. Moreover, we must realize that this is Sony’s way of releasing new consoles, they were doing the same thing during PS4 Launch.
Well Sony says they will reveal new exclusives and games during Launch. As of yet, we only know about Godfall. The game is being developed by Gearbox, and it’ll join other exclusives that will be announced in the coming months.
On the other hand, Xbox has announced various exclusives that will join the Xbox Series X. I don’t know if we should really be calling these games as exclusives. Sooner or later they will release on Xbox Game Pass, so PC can also access them.
Confirmed Xbox Series X Exclusives
- Forza Motorsport 8
- Gears 5
- Halo Infinite
- Everwild
- Orphan of the Machine
- Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
- Scorn
Well, that’s about it, and most importantly Xbox Series X wont be getting more first-party exclusive games at launch. Further, some of these games will also be available on PC. So consequently they are not true exclusives to Xbox Series X, but we will consider them because PS5 wont have them.

Halo Infinite is Xbox’s big gun that is prepared for whatever exclusive Sony will announce at launch. While Xbox thinks it is smart and generous of providing games on both platforms. I think PC players won’t go for Series X, simply because they can already play its games on PC. Hence, PC players will rather get PS5 and play games they do not have access to.
The confirmed Xbox Series X exclusives look great. However, In comparison to PS4 Exclusives. I don’t think these games will have a chance against the likes of God Of War, Uncharted, and The Last of Us.
Sony could crush Xbox Series X With PS4 exclusives
While we think that Xbox Series X might lead due to its insane specifications. PS5 has also been getting a lot of compliments about its SSD. PS5 SSD is the only thing it has the advantage over. Sony CEO says that PS5 SSD will be 100 times faster than the older PS4. Therefore, the SSD is no joke. If we compare both console’s specs, PS5 would still be behind Series X.
Well, If Sony wants to crush the competition, they should pass the PS4 exclusives onto PS5. This can turn out to be a very intelligent move. They could clearly dominate as consumers would get more reasons to buy the PS5 instead of Series X. Here’s are some reasons why PS4 exclusives on PS5 could do magic for Sony.
PS4 Exclusives are incomparable

Sony is still dominating the PS4 vs Xbox One X charts because of PS4 Exclusives. The games are literally next level, and I don’t think Xbox has any chance against the likes of Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Here are some of the most popular of PS4 exclusives.
- God of War
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
- Marvel’s Spider-Man
- The Last of Us Part II
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Detroit: Become Human
- InFamous: Second Son
- Days Gone
- Driveclub
- Bloodborne
- Persona 5 Royal
- GT Sport
- Yakuza 6
- Until Dawn
These titles are extremely valuable, and they always give consumers a reason to select PlayStation. Suppose these titles are confirmed for PS5, the odds could quickly flip into PS5 favors.
PS4 Exclusives would give consumers more reasons to buy
Looking from a PC player’s perspective. I’d love to have PS5. However, the games are certainly not eye-catching. As a result, I’d wait if any of PS4 exclusives would join PS5. The reason why I’d love to play PS4 exclusives on PS5 would be the performance. To clarify, I’ve always been worried about FPS. This is why I skipped PS4 and I might buy one of the upcoming consoles. If the same games would run on PS5 at better performance, let’s buy it.

Likewise, new consumers will also look at the games before jumping to PS5. People would rather find PS4 a better Console because of its exclusives. I’d recommend Sony to figure out moving PS4 exclusives on PS5. This would get the PS5 more attention, and perhaps make more sales. Potential Xbox buyers would also take interest in PS5.
PS4 Players would also move to PS5
So far PS4 players are comfortable with their console. That is to say, the exclusives are still there and PS5 games are not good enough. Suppose Sony gives some sort of assurance about PS4 exclusives on PS5. PS4 players would definitely move to PS5.
In the same vein as PC players, they will love to play their favorite games on PS5 at better framerates and settings. Not only that, but they will also enjoy the future proof hardware and new features. Moreover, most of the PS4 players are huge admirers of the exclusives.
PS5 Exclusives and Rumoured Games are nothing alike to PS4 exclusives
PS5 has had a lot of rumored games that will be announced on launch. Most of them are good, but certainly not close to the mega exclusives on PS4. The likes of Uncharted, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Part 2 are the sorts of games. Players wait for years to play them. These are the mega games. In contrast, Xbox is getting Cyberpunk 2077 and Halo Infinite.
Takeaways
While we think it is all peanut and butter to say PS4 exclusives on PS5. It is not that easy. Developers have to enhance those games to a newer console, things like these can take a lot of time. Sony in my opinion have played the exclusive games really smart. Unlike Xbox, who are just shifting all their focus on Xbox Series X. Sony is still giving people reasons to buy the PS4.
For instance, they have now dropped the insane Ghost of Tsushima gameplay, which has taken the internet by surprise. The game is really incredible, it looks like an enhanced version of Witcher 3 and Assassin’s Creed.
Further, they have already dropped The Last of Us Part 2 Console. Which is sort of competitor to Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 console. However, the Last of Us Part 2 game itself has more significance. The upcoming game by Naughty Dog has been in development for years and its spectacular. In contrast, Xbox had its console designed for Cyberpunk 2077, which is also coming to PS4.
So far, Sony has been quiet, about the PS5 launch. This was the particular thing I discussed while writing Xbox Should Learn from Sony’s talk less approach.
To sum up, I think PS4 exclusives will definitely come to PS5, but they might arrive later. Sony will plan to announce all PS4 exclusives on PS5, but most of them won’t be available launch. In the same vein, they will make sure fans are not backing away from PS5 because of exclusives.
If Sony wants to crush the competition, they should pass the PS4 exclusives onto PS5. The PS4 exclusives are uncomparable, and they can be very beneficial.
