Hardware keeps getting upgraded, and there is always a slight upgrade with extra features. However this is not the case with PS5 upgrade over PS4. In a document uploaded on Sony’s website, the company CEO revealed PS5’s true speed.
PS5 100 times faster than PS4
The document says that the PS5 is not just offering a resolution upgrade over PS4. It will offer 100 times faster processing speed than PS4. This is all happening through its next level high speed SSD. Here are the notes via Sony.
“In order to further enhance the sense of immersion in games, we expect to improve not just the resolution, but the speed of games,” Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida
“For example, through a custom‐designed high‐speed SSD, we plan to realize game data processing speeds that are approximately 100 times faster than PS4. Game load times should be much shorter, and players should be able to move through immense game worlds in almost an instant.”
The Games will load much faster than ever. Sony has completely revolutionized the way Console’s will handle the game. Moreover, there will be a huge advantage to all developers, who can now make bigger open-world games with more details. PS5 has already shown us what it can do with amazing specs. The console ran Unreal Engine 5 with extra-ordinary performance.
Epic CEO And Unreal Engine 5 mastermind, Tim Sweeney praised the PS5.
“Sony has really done an awesome job of architecting a great system,” Sweeney says. “The storage architecture on the PS5 is far ahead of anything you can buy on anything on PC for any amount of money right now. It’s going to help drive future PCs. They’re going to see this thing ship and say, ‘Oh wow, SSDs are going to need to catch up with this.’” The PS5, combined with tools like UE5, will enable “nothing but seamless, continuous worlds, and you can have this degree of fidelity going on for as many kilometers and gigabytes as you wish,”
We recently discussed the Sony’s way of releasing PS5. It was exactly moments like these we were discussing. Sony does not talk a lot like Xbox, and suddenly it drops a new statement or video like Unreal Engine 5 and everyone starts talking about them. You can read about that below.
